Pupil Council
Meadows School has a Pupil Council who meet once a term to discuss issues that students would like to raise. Each area of the school has a representative who can put forward ideas and suggestions on behalf of other students.
This year the Pupil Council has established the tradition of having own clothes day at the end of each term In addition they campaigned and received more benches and a table for outdoors seating.
The pupils have also investigated what would help to give more choices for activities during breaks and lunchtimes, especially over the winter months when they want to be indoors more often.
The idea of extending a gaming hub in Key Stage 3, so that there was more than one platform for gaming at lunch, led to one of the governors being approached by some of our Year 7s.
They were successful in enlisting her help, which has led to the donation of an X-Box 360 with a number of games, a skipping rope, some card games and board games, as well as a karaoke kit and microphone. This also inspired a Year 11 to donate some of his games to the Hub, showing generosity and real community spirit.
